PQCrypto 2017 The Eighth International Conference on Post-Quantum Cryptography Utrecht, the Netherlands, June 26–28, 2017 |
|
IntroductionThe aim of PQCrypto is to serve as a forum for researchers to present results and exchange ideas on the topic of cryptography in an era with large-scale quantum computers. After seven successful PQCrypto conferences (2006 in Leuven, 2008 in Cincinnati, 2010 in Darmstadt, 2011 in Taipei, 2013 in Limoges, 2014 in Waterloo, and 2016 in Fukuoka), PQCrypto 2017 will take place on June 26–28, 2017 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The conference will be preceded by a Summer School on Post-Quantum Cryptography (organized by the H2020 project PQCRYPTO) which will run June 19–23, 2017 and an Executive School on Post-Quantum Cryptography (organized by the H2020 project ECRYPT-CSA) which will run June 22–23, 2017. Proceedings of PQCrypto 2017 are published by Springer as LNCS 10346. Participants can access the chapters (temporarily) using this link. Make sure to follow the link from this domain to switch on the free access part. We are on twitter as @PQCryptoConf for updates. RegistrationRegistration is now open. Please register here. The early registration fee was 250 EUR, the late registration fee
is 300 EUR. The fee covers all talks and coffee
breaks, lunches on June 26th, 27th, and 28th, a reception on the 26th, and
dinner on the 27th. The early registration fee for students is 175 EUR. The bank transfer details appear on the registration site and on the confirmation email. For completeness, here are all details. Please use 323120-1003777-$your-last-name as the subject/purpose of the transfer. Else we cannot trace the transfer. The IBAN is NL42Rabo0158249658 and the BIC is RaboNL2U Please contact us if you encounter technical problems paying the registration fee. StipendsWe hope to be able to offer some stipends. These may cover a
registration fee waiver and/or 3 nights in a shared double room. We
will not be able to support travel. ProgramThe registration desk will open at 09:00 on the 26th; the first talk will start 09:30. The conference will end with lunch on the 28th. We plan on having a recent-results session on Monday afternoon before the reception. The conference dinner will take place on Tuesday evening. To submit to the recent-results session send an email to Wouter Castryck before 12:00 (noon) on June 26.
For full details and times see here. Invited SpeakersPQCrypto 2017 is happy to welcome 3 invited speakers. In addition there will be a question-and-answer session with NIST on Tuesday.
LocationThe conference will take place in the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Utrecht goes back to Roman times and the inner city has many buildings from medieval times with typical Dutch canals. Utrecht is internationally known for being the home of Miffy (or rather Miffy's creator Dick Bruna) and the Miffy Museum. There are many other museums and other attractions in Utrecht, see Visiting Utrecht for more details. More information will be posted closer to the conference. Venue
The conference will take place in the meeting center
Domstad (page in Dutch).
It is located close to the central station, on the side where the bus
stops are, away from the city. Their directions page is also in Dutch but has
a good schematic drawing. AccommodationWe've set aside several rooms via ITB Holland. This site allows you to prepay the room+breakfast+city taxes (most sites don't handle the city taxes). Some rooms can be booked without breakfast. Note that for some hotels the 'minutes' entry is specified as time by public transport. You can plan your transportation here. The rooms are on a first-come-first-serve basis and the block will expire mid May. Please visit https://bookingbydesign.com/index.php?c_id=171 for the hotel booking. Travel and VisasIf you need a visa please email Tanja Lange with the required details, including a reference to your homepage or contact information of your supervisor. Check out the official government page first to see whether you need a visa (search for the "Do I need a visa?" section and check out the pdf file). Utrecht one of the train hubs of the Netherlands also with direct connections to Germany. The closest airports are Schiphol (Amsterdam airport), Rotterdam airport and Eindhoven airport. Travel by car to Utrecht is not recommended, parking in the center is expensive (more than 3 EUR per hour for street parking, some better deals are available with garages). That said, the venue is on the side of the station which has some parking -- the Jaarbeurs has a garage and there is some (expensive) street parking. Some years ago all public transportation got unified to accept a form of electronic payment, the OV Chipcard. While the card is quite famous in crypto and security as a subject of research, it can also be used for public transportation. The card costs 7.50 EUR but saves you 1 EUR on every train ride (fee for the paper card) and around 1.50 EUR for short bus rides. You need to check in at the start of your journey and out at the end of it. Fees are based on distance. Amsterdam airport to Utrecht
Utrecht is about 30 minutes by train from Schiphol (Amsterdam airport), the biggest airport in the Netherlands with good connections to everywhere in the world.
The airport has a train station (called Schiphol) and trains serve Utrecht four times
per hour during daytime. Eindhoven airport to UtrechtEindhoven also has its own airport which is served by some low-cost airlines. From the arrival hall at Eindhoven airport you can walk to the bus stop. With bus no 401, starting at Eindhoven Airport, Eindhoven Central station is accessible in approximately 15 minutes. You can buy a ticket in the bus. Train tickets are available from the yellow ticket machines on the ground level of the Eindhoven station or from the ticket office in the central hall of the station. Travelling from Eindhoven to Utrecht takes 50 minutes. Trains to UtrechtFor international train tickets check out https://www.nsinternational.nl/en. Unfortunately they only list bigger cities outside the Netherlands. Better service is available e.g. from https://www.bahn.com/en/. Local transportationDetails on public transportation can be found at http://9292.nl/en. Note that you can search for connections between street addresses. Buses are frequent and with the OV-Chipcard they are quite affordable, just above 1 EUR for rides within the city. Single rides without a card are 2.50 EUR. Important Dates

The length of the submission must be at most 12 pages, excluding references and appendices, in a single column format, in 10pt fonts using the default llncs class without any adjustments to margins, fonts, or other. If the submission is accepted, the length of the final version will be at most 20 pages including references and appendices, in the llncs class format. Submissions must not substantially duplicate work that any of the authors has published in a journal or a conference/workshop with proceedings, or has submitted/is planning to submit before the author notification deadline to a journal or other conferences/workshops that have proceedings. The submission should begin with a title, the authors' names and affiliations, a short abstract, and a list of key words, and its introduction should summarize the contributions of the paper at a level appropriate for a non-specialist reader. Submissions ignoring these guidelines may be rejected without further consideration. Submission deadlinesThe initial submission deadline is February 14, 2017. Papers submitted by this deadline may be in draft form but must include a title and an abstract. The final submission deadline is February 21, 2017. Authors who submitted a paper by the February 14 deadline will be permitted to revise their papers anytime before the final submission deadline. Since no deadline was stated here we have set the submission and revision deadlines to UTC-11:00, i.e. the westernmost timezone.
